Job Description:
Perform pre-power inspections and functional testing of adjustable speed drives and power apparatus. Under guidance and supervision, troubleshoot power and control circuits. Assist with projects as assigned by department leadership. Follow all established processes and procedures and adhere to all safety practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment when working with energized circuits.
• Perform pre-power visual inspection of equipment and components.
• Follow procedures and checklist to function test low and medium voltage Variable Frequency Drives, medium voltage Motor Controllers, and Solid State Starters.
• Provide assistance during testing of non-standard product.
• Read and interpret electrical circuit and wiring diagrams.
• Use standard test equipment and have the capacity to learn how to use more advanced test equipment.
• Operate test stations generating voltages up to 13,800 volts.
• Use common hand and small power tools to connect and disconnect equipment cabling.
• Report equipment and component discrepancies and non-conformancee.
• Maintain test equipment as needed.

Minimum Education / Experience:
• Two-year technical degree completed or near completion. Military experience/training equivalent to 2-year technical degree is acceptable. Successful completion of a nationally recognized electronics technician certification program can be used in lieu of completing a 2-year degree.
• Familiar with the use of standard test equipment to include digital multi-meter and oscilloscope.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
