HR Generalist
Location: Houston, TX 77073 (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, start anytime between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, as long as they are working within the 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM operating window.
Compensation: $72,000-$80,000 base salary, with flexibility based on experience, plus annual bonus opportunity

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to serve as the primary Human Resources representative for a manufacturing facility in Houston. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on HR professional who enjoys working autonomously, building strong relationships across all levels of an organization, and making a meaningful impact in a fast-paced environment.
This position will act as the sole onsite HR resource, partnering closely with leadership while supporting a diverse employee population. The ideal candidate is comfortable operating independently, handling both strategic and tactical HR responsibilities, and serving as a trusted advisor to employees and management.

Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Support
- Serve as the primary HR contact for the site
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters
- Build strong working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization
- Support employee engagement, development, and retention initiatives
- Partner with business leaders to support organizational goals
- Manage employee relations matters and workplace investigations
- Support performance management and employee development activities
- Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Coordinate employee training and compliance programs
- Manage background checks and employment verifications
- Process weekly payroll for hourly employees
- Process semi-monthly payroll for salaried employees
- Review payroll information for accuracy and completeness
- Run month-end payroll reports
- Assist employees with payroll-related questions and concerns
- Support timekeeping administration and payroll compliance activities
- Administer employee benefit programs
- Support annual open enrollment activities
- Assist with leave administration, including FMLA
- Coordinate workers' compensation reporting and claim administration
- Support retirement and 401(k) administration
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions
- Create and post job advertisements
- Source, screen, and interview candidates
- Coordinate hiring processes and prepare job offers
- Maintain recruiting metrics and reporting
- Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs
- Maintain HRIS records and employee data
- Generate and analyze HR reports and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Maintain employee files and HR documentation
- Support policy development and updates
- Assist with workforce planning and organizational reporting
- Coordinate employee events and recognition programs
Required
- 3-5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
- Experience supporting multiple HR functions including employee relations, recruiting, payroll, benefits, and HR administration
- Payroll processing experience
- Full-cycle recruiting experience
- Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office applications
- Manufacturing experience
- Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations
- Experience working as a standalone HR professional or in a small HR team
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
