Accounts Payable Accountant

Salary: Up to $65,000 + Bonus Eligible

A growing organization in Houston is adding a newly created Accounts Payable Accountant position to support expanding operations. This opportunity is being presented by a third-party recruiting partner on behalf of our client.

This role is ideal for an experienced AP professional looking to step into a high-visibility, project-driven environment with exposure to international transactions and multi-entity accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full-cycle accounts payable processing across multiple entities
• Review and validate invoices for coding accuracy, approvals, and compliance
• Handle vendor payments, including ACH, check runs, and select international transactions
• Research and resolve discrepancies, missing documentation, and invoice issues
• Partner with internal teams to ensure proper project and cost allocation
• Maintain vendor records and support onboarding and updates as needed
• Perform account reconciliations and assist with month-end AP close processes
• Communicate with vendors to address payment status, inquiries, and account questions
• Identify and recommend improvements to AP workflows and processes

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of full cycle accounts payable experience
• Experience working in a multi-entity or project-based environment highly preferred
• Exposure to international payments or foreign currency transactions is a plus
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP/accounting systems
• Proven ability to manage deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills with both internal stakeholders and external vendors

Work Environment:

• 100% onsite in Houston, TX
• Fast-paced, collaborative, and detail-oriented accounting team
