CoxConsulting Network is exclusively working with a high-net-worth family officein its search for a Finance Director. This position reports to the Principal ofthe family office and plays a key role in delivering high-quality financialmanagement, operational oversight and strategic support.The position is in-office (with ampleprofessional flexibility) in Houston, Texas near the Galleria.
Thisis a newly created family office, with connections to, and support from, acurrently existing office.Thisindividual will have the opportunity to create the office, and this position,from scratch, while having others to rely on for assistance and guidance.The ideal candidate will have strong taxexperience, exceptional GAAP understanding and experience with family offices.

Rolesand Responsibilities
- Manage thefull monthly accounting close, including journal entries andreconciliations in accordance with GAAP
- Delivertimely, accurate, and meaningful financial reporting to the family andstakeholders
- Prepareconsolidated net worth statements and personal financial statements acrossmultiple entities and asset classes
- Track andverify investment and securities transactions
- Support thedevelopment of dashboards and reports highlighting key metrics, trends,and performance drivers
- Processvendor and personal payments with accuracy and efficiency
- Ensurecomprehensive tax strategies are in place across income streams,investment structures, charitable giving, and estate planning
- Liaise withlegal, tax, investment, trustee, and banking advisors to coordinate andmonitor ongoing services
- Compile andanalyze financial data for IRS and other regulatory filings
- Review taxreturns and related documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Analyze andnegotiate advisor and service provider fees
- Manage thefinancial operations of private foundations, including budgeting,disbursements, and compliance
- Administerand track personal charitable contributions and ensure regulatoryadherence
- Assist inimplementing and maintaining estate planning structures in coordinationwith legal and tax advisors
Requirements
- Bachelor'sDegree or higher degree in Accounting
- CPAcertification
- Minimum8 years' experience, with tax expertise preferred
- Solidunderstanding of US GAAP, accounting processes and controls
- Trustaccounting and knowledge of rules for charitable foundations, a plus
- Strongorganizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multipletasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
- Verystrong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships withstakeholders, including staff, family members and external partners
- Expertlevel written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstratedproactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
- Highlyresourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effectiveindependently
