The Lending Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to Commercial Lenders. Assist customers with inter-bank telephone transfers, account balances and general deposit and loan account service needs. Prepares loan and credit memorandums and assists Commercial Lenders with loan closings and funding. Prepares loan advances, clears loan exceptions, and calls on past due loans to secure payment. Requests credit reports and sends out approval and denial packages on loans to appropriate departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves a first or second point of contact for existing customers.
- Manage Customer Due Diligence Questionnaire ("CDDQ") request on deposit accounts.
- Assist with monitoring & managing exceptions as directed by Lender.
- Order appraisals and internal evaluations/reviews and assist with any loan related reviews.
- Assist with application and data entry for Sageworks directed by the Lender.
- Coordinate loan completion through booking and funding the entire time through Sageworks in conjunction with Credit Analyst.
- Daily cut list for NSFs, transfers and exception items such as Positive Pay.
- Manage transfers and customer inquiries.
- Oversight to handle wire request.
- Complete beneficial ownership forms.
- Coordinate auto debit payments.
- Compliance with any and all BSA/AML/CFT and Sanctions requirements set forth by Bank Policy and Procedure, including but not limited to timely completion of assigned training.

The position performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff.
ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
The incumbent is in a non-confined office setting in which they are free to move about at will. In the course of performing the duties and responsibilities of this position spends time writing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 25 pounds), sitting, typing on a computer keyboard, and standing, kneeling and reaching.
The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, copy and fax machine, adding machine, computer and related printers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
These specifications are guidelines based on the minimum experience required to perform the essential functions of the job. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines:
- High school diploma or its equivalent; College Degree preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years Lending Assistant experience, Commercial, Real Estate and working capital Line of Credit loan documentation including processing, closing, perfecting liens, etc.
- Customer service oriented; polite and professional.
- Good communications skill for effective interactions with clients.
- Proficiently communicate with branch personnel, loan officers, commercial lending staff, attorneys, etc.
- Detailed oriented with ability to multi-task.
- Must be self-motivated and also work in a team environment.
- Requires a high-energy level and strong sense of urgency.
- High level of customer relation and interpersonal skills (verbal and written), tact and integrity.
- Proficiency in typing, PC, Microsoft Office, and ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking skills and ability to work with frequent interruptions.
- Good time management skills, task orientation, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Must be able to process information quickly while maintaining quality.
