- Assemble mechanical devices and equipment.
- Read work orders, follow production drawing and sample assemblies, or receive verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
- Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.
- Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
- Perform intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
- Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for products.
- Perform intermediate tasks, such as sanding, cleaning, stamping, etching of parts and assemblies.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec International Standards Organization (AS9100/ISO) policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
- May be responsible for direction and training of subordinate mechanical assembly personnel.
- Monitor personnel to ensure activities are conducted in accordance with Atec AS9100/ISO policies and correct and report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
- Be familiar with and understand Atec Quality Policy and company objectives.
- Understand required AS9100/ISO specific Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Complete all records required by Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Participate in Atec Improvement Machine (AIM) as appropriate.
- Participate in AS9100/ISO training as required.
- Cooperate with Auditors.
- Report any deviations to appropriate area manager/supervisor.
- High School diploma or GED, or one to three years experience and/or training; or combination of education and experience.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Employee is regularly required to sit, bend, stand, reach, walk, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Good eyesight; buy lenses if necessary.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Extended work hours may occasionally be required.
