The Team The Healthcare Industry Group (HIG), a subsidiary of A&M, leads transformational change for the healthcare industry. Our professionals advise organizations on financial and operational performance improvement, strategic growth, and value across the investment lifecycle. Our team provides expertise in interim management, restructuring, revenue cycle management, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and regulatory, digital technology and analytics. You will work with clients in health systems and providers, physician groups, ancillary providers, medical schools, vision, laboratory, dental and behavioral health; managed care and health plans, government programs, healthcare investors and lenders, medical devices, suppliers and infrastructure, and life sciences. HIG\'s Healthcare Services (HCS) practice focuses on serving private equity portfolio companies and public and private healthcare companies, with services including performance improvement/operational turnarounds, cost optimization, M&A services, finance operations, and interim management (including CFO services).
Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant you will work closely with healthcare clients on complex assignments, using independent judgement and critical thinking to gather data, design practical solutions, and drive financial and operational improvements. Depending on the project, responsibilities may include:
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce cost structure by redesigning org structures and eliminating non-value-added tasks
- Optimize month-end close process and management reporting to support decisions
- Build and manage financial models and conduct analyses (synergy analyses, 13-week cash flow, pro forma statements)
- Guide clients through crisis or quick solutions by structuring and executing performance improvement plans
- Develop operational data analysis and KPI metrics; conduct client interviews and evaluate operations
- Summarize findings and create actionable recommendations from large data sets
- Lead work streams within projects, managing day-to-day engagement priorities
- Prepare client-ready deliverables and presentations; present to clients
- Coach and mentor junior staff
- Build client relationships and seek opportunities to expand engagements
- Support marketing initiatives via pitch creation and materials
- Contribute to developing tools and templates for offerings

Qualifications
We seek an entrepreneurial, collaborative Senior Consultant who can manage ambiguity and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Expected qualifications include:
- High-energy individual with a passion for healthcare and solving complex issues
- Minimum five (5) years of healthcare-focused experience in healthcare, consulting, or related fields (e.g., healthcare banking, accounting, audit, private equity)
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling; ability to build 13-week cash flow forecasts and three-statement models
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills; experience with Visio, Tableau/Power BI, SQL, SPSS is a plus
- Solid project management and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of healthcare industry including finance, operations, and relevant laws/regulations
- Ability to use sound judgment and escalate issues appropriately
- Ability to coach and mentor junior staff
- Excellent verbal and written communication; comfortable presenting to all client levels
- Willingness to travel as required
- BA/BS and/or MBA/MS in Accounting, Finance, or healthcare-related fields (e.g., MHA, MPH)
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CFA, or progress toward them
