Estimated Pay Range

$80,000 - $84,000, DOE

Location Information

Onsite in Houston, Texas for approximately 12-14 months; upon completion of assignment, transfer to an Applied Engineering office (Fargo, ND or Brooklyn Park, MN).

Job Summary

As a Manufacturing Engineer in Houston, Texas, you may: drive improvements in metal fabrication, electro-mechanical, and electronic assembly processes. Apply hands-on experience to optimize manufacturing workflows, support production associates, and implement design changes based on operator feedback. Utilize expertise in manufacturing processes, electrical systems, and assembly techniques to enhance product quality and efficiency. Conduct DFM reviews, develop assembly fixtures, and contribute to prototyping initiatives. Collaborate across cross-functional teams using strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Employ quality control tools such as process control and failure mode and effects analysis to maintain high standards. Use 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD) for design and layout tasks. Integrate ERP/MRP systems (Epicor) to streamline operations and support continuous improvement in assembly process development, and work collaboratively with suppliers and other Applied partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3-5 years of previous manufacturing experience
  • Proficient with Solidworks for 3D modeling
  • Proficient with AutoCAD for 2D modeling
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, following industry safety standards and assembly process development
