Certified Medical Assistant North Float

The Medical Assistant is responsible for working within a float pool at the various Baylor St. Luke's Medical Group Clinics to assist with supplemental staffing. The expert level Medical Assistant demonstrates a mastery level of proficiency in delivering patient care in the ambulatory care setting. Performs patient care responsibilities and provides clerical and administrative support in a clinical setting. Serves as a float pool resource to various clinics within designated, local region. Performs routine patient care responsibilities such as taking vital signs, venipuncture (blood draws), collect specimens, EK - Gs/ EC - Gs, and POC - Ts. Collects patient history, performs medication reconciliation and enters information in the electronic medical record. Notes the primary complaint/reason for patients visit. Sets up instruments and equipment for medical provider (MD, DO, PA NP). Assist with procedures as needed.
