DescriptionCatholic Charities is looking for the right people who wish to serve their community as part of a family friendly organization doing good within the Houston-Galveston area. Refugee Resettlement assists in creating a home-away-from-home. We assist government-approved refugees in becoming self-sufficient through cultural orientation, job development, family reunification, and resettlement. The Manager, Employment ensures proper implementation of Employment Services programs in the Refugee Resettlement department in accordance with grant requirements. The Manager, Employment provides support and oversight for Employment Supervisors. The successful candidate has a thorough understanding of the Employment program, professional communication with funders, and strong problem-solving skills.
What you Deliver
- Improve case file documentation and provide training to staff on best practices for working with clients in the employment services program.
- Communicate with the State Refugee Coordinator to problem solve or provide technical assistance to staff working in the employment services program. Intervene and offer guidance for difficult cases.
- Prepare and monitor requests for financial assistance associated with the employment program (bus vouchers, payments for uniforms, etc.). Prepare monthly report for accounting and complete periodic reports required by the agency as well as the Texas Office for Refugees (TXOR).
- Provide quality improvement for the Employment Services program.
- Ensure all Employment Services staff are updated on guidelines given by TXOR.
- Coordinate interpretation and translation services for clients, as needed.
- Maintain client files and assure completeness and compliance with agency quality and compliance as well as funder requirements. Ensure all data entered into Client Track for the Employment Services program is accurate and timely.
- Collaborate with Managers and Supervisors from other programs in the refugee resettlement department to provide comprehensive, holistic, and thorough services to all clients.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field
- Three (3) years of experience in a social service setting or similar setting
- Two (2) years of experience in a leadership role
- Valid Texas Driver's License

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to influence others.
- Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.
- Nonprofit experience is preferred, but not required.
- Experience with applicable software e.g. MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access).
