Position Summary

The IT Desktop Support II plays a key role in ensuring the reliability and performance of IT systems across the organization. This position provides advanced technical support, resolves complex issues, and contributes to strategic technology initiatives. As a subject matter expert, the IT Desktop Support II also monitors infrastructure performance, manages security access, and supports continuous improvement efforts. In addition to delivering high-quality service, this role mentors junior team members and fosters collaboration across departments. By combining technical expertise with a proactive and service-oriented approach, the IT Desktop Support II helps maintain operational continuity and supports Electrolit's ongoing growth and innovation.

Location: Houston TX (on-site)

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve advanced IT support tickets related to hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Lead troubleshooting for escalated technical problems and ensure timely resolution.
  • Support employee onboarding/offboarding including account provisioning, equipment setup, and access configuration.
  • Monitor and maintain system performance, security access, and infrastructure health.
  • Assist in cyber security initiatives including endpoint protection and vulnerability management.
  • Provide mentorship and training to IT Desktop I and other junior staff.
  • Document technical procedures, solutions, and knowledge base articles.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership on strategic initiatives such as infrastructure upgrades and tablet rollout programs.
  • Participate in PC refresh cycles and ensure smooth transition for end-users.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS), enterprise software, and hardware.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple terms.
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple support requests simultaneously.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in IT support or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, ITIL) are a plus.
  • Experience supporting strategic IT projects and mentoring junior staff.

Other Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA.
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
