Job Summary

Position is responsible for developing and implementing technical, personal development, and customer service training for all employees.

Job Description

The Director of Education will support both Greater Heights & Memorial City education programs. The preferred candidate will have 5+ years of RN experience and at least 5 years of experience as a RN clinical educator. A MSN is required, along with BLS certification. NPD certification is a plus.

Hours: Mon-Fri, days with no weekends or holidays required.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Masters degree or equivalent experience

Licenses/Certifications: None required

Experience / Knowledge / Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills

Principal Accountabilities

  • Hires, trains, evaluates, disciplines and supervises staff as appropriate.
  • Manages departmental budget, reviews financial records, and ensures financial targets are met or exceeded.
  • Develops and implements training programs for technical, administrative, clinical, and physician personnel.
  • Develops, revises, and updates training and in-service programs.
  • Monitors training effectiveness and its impact on service quality, productivity, turnover, and enrollment.
  • Implements attendance tracking for training programs.
  • Develops training quality evaluation tools.
  • Establishes policies regarding training and education.
  • Collaborates with management to address training needs of employees and physicians.
  • Maintains an accurate catalog of training seminars and programs.
  • Oversees publications and marketing related to training.
  • Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with JCAHO standards and OSHA guidelines.
  • Implements learning initiatives for large groups and coordinates development methodologies system-wide.
  • Ensures safe care for patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to policies and standards.
  • Supports professional growth and development of staff, serving as mentor and resource.
  • Models Memorial Hermann service standards, providing safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
