Position Summary
We are seeking a Turbine Engineer with hands-on experience in turbine packaging and balance of plant (BOP) systems within the natural gas power generation sector. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background and prior exposure to turbine or reciprocating engine projects, with commissioning experience considered a strong plus. This role involves supporting engineering, design, and integration activities to ensure reliable and efficient turbine system performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the packaging of turbines and balance of plant systems, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and industry regulations.
- Provide technical expertise during the design, fabrication, and installation phases of turbine and power generation equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, commissioning engineers, and operations staff to deliver fully integrated solutions.
- Develop technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and procedures related to turbine packaging and auxiliary systems.
- Support commissioning and startup activities, including troubleshooting, performance validation, and system optimization.
- Conduct technical evaluations of turbine and reciprocating engine systems, assessing risks and recommending design or process improvements.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for turbine systems in natural gas power generation applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 5+ years of engineering experience with turbine systems, balance of plant, or reciprocating engines in power generation or energy projects.
- Demonstrated experience in turbine packaging, system integration, and project delivery.
- Commissioning/startup experience strongly preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of natural gas turbine operations, auxiliary equipment, and related standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Rotational engineering background with exposure to multiple engineering disciplines.
- Reciprocating engine experience with demonstrated expertise in packaging and integration.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in power generation and mechanical systems
