Reliability Engineer
We are seeking a detail-oriented Reliability Engineer to enhance the operational stability and maintenance practice efficacy within our production areas. In this role, you will serve as the primary contact for most mechanical systems, playing a crucial part in addressing day-to-day challenges while ensuring safety and reliability in operations. This position requires proactive involvement in various critical activities, from day-to-day operations support to technical delivery and project management. Ideal candidates are expected to foster a culture oriented towards continuous improvement and proactive problem-solving.
Salary: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate operations support by collaborating with Operations and Maintenance departments to solve daily concerns that arise, guaranteeing safe and reliable unit operations.
- Participate in production team meetings to stay updated on key activities and the operational status of units.
- Conduct periodic field walkthroughs with operations, maintenance, and inspection teams to proactively identify issues with equipment and provide actionable recommendations.
- Support stabilization and recovery efforts during operational disruptions.
- Identify and prioritize threats and opportunities relating to mechanical equipment, frame potential solutions, and lead efforts to resolve these by managing Threats and Opportunities (MTO).
- Lead Management of Change (MOC): Oversee technical design, facilitate technical assurance, and conduct hazard screening.
- Execute Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) to manage and enhance care strategies for both fixed and rotating machinery using standardized methodologies.
- Drive compliance and seek optimization opportunities in Maintenance Execution (ME).
- Manage Process Safety Compliance to ensure recommendations are implemented in a timely manner.
- Leverage technical expertise to define the scope of changes in mechanical equipment and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Involved in proactive technical monitoring, including the review of production unit shift reports, analysis of vibration and oil samples, and implement corrective actions.
- Champion problem-solving within the production team, conduct failure investigations, and identify solutions to prevent reoccurrences.
- Participate in the multi-year major maintenance planning, ensuring the plan is competitive and drives improvement in asset integrity and profitability.
- Contribute to project management by providing updates to stakeholders and participating in decision-making processes that benefit site operations.
- Provide support in turnaround activities, from planning to field execution and commissioning.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, mechanical engineering preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on maintenance and reliability.
- Sound knowledge of maintenance and reliability concepts, risk assessments, and engineering processes.
- Familiarity with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Management of Change (MOC), and structured problem-solving.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills with the capability to interact effectively across various organizational levels.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent team working skills to achieve common goals collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge and competency in both static and rotating equipment.
- Prior experience in refining and petrochemical industries.
- Extensive understanding of industry standards and their application.
- Proven success in continuous learning and skill enhancement related to equipment maintenance and reliability.
