IT SECURITY MANAGER
Job Description
Travel Required:
Ability to travel up to 10% both domestically and internationally.
Location:
Houston, Texas.
Overview:
Our client is seeking an IT Security Manager who will plan, execute, and manage network initiatives in the enterprise, including the implementation of new technologies and management of the existing network environment.
Responsibilities:
The Manager of IT Security will be assigned to our client to manage project teams for the installation and integration of new security tools and related policies. He/she will work to prevent interruptions to IT services and loss of productivity related to security vulnerabilities or policies. The manager will provide relevant security input during the budgeting cycle. This is a hands-on position that requires team management experience.
- Act as a key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally.

Desired Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree strongly preferred.
Desired Experience:
Technical experience, usually gained with 5 to 7 years of experience as a security analyst or security engineer with expertise in:
- Web Filtering
- Anti-Virus and Malware remediation
- IDS/IPS
- PKI
- Application Whitelisting
- Firewalls
- System hardening and patch management
- Security policy creation, implementation, and auditing
- 1-3 years of experience developing system life cycle management programs and policies related to security
- Specific expertise in PCD or SCADA security is a plus
- Strong relationships with security & network experts within the region
Management experience, usually gained with 3 to 5 years of experience as a team lead or project manager, including:
- Requesting approval for projects to IT management
- Team resource allocation
- Status and closure reporting
- Oversee and/or assist with internal processes, periodic audits, assessments, and tests (HIPAA, SOX, etc.)
- Serve as an expert to security staff with possible on-call escalation
- Manage, forecast (as appropriate), and analyze production requests/issues
- Manage the resolution with business-relevant solutions
Desired Certifications:
- CISSP, CCIE, CCNP, CCDP, or other professional certifications. PMP Certification is a plus.
