Human Resources (HR) Manager - Healthcare

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on HR Manager with a strong background in healthcare to oversee all day-to-day human resources operations within our organization. This position plays a critical role in developing HR strategy and policy, maintaining compliance, improving employee relations, managing payroll and benefits (ADP), and supporting our rapidly growing healthcare workforce. This role will be key to promoting company culture and setting a standard for managing all People Matters at the company. This role will evolve toward greater leadership and broader responsibility as the company continues to scale.

This role is full-time at our Humble location. On-site is preferred, but hybrid arrangements will be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

1. HR Operations & Compliance

• Manage and oversee daily HR functions including onboarding, offboarding, and employee record maintenance
• Ensure organizational compliance with federal, state, and healthcare-specific regulations (FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, TDI-DWC, etc.)
• Maintain up-to-date policies and procedures in compliance with labor laws and healthcare best practices
• Partner with leadership on audits, incident reports, and licensure tracking

2. Payroll & Benefits Administration

• Process bi-weekly payroll using ADP Workforce Now, including hourly, salaried, and provider compensation
• Administer benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k)
• Conduct open enrollment and serve as the point of contact for benefit-related issues
• Track PTO, leaves of absence, holiday pay, and time corrections with accuracy

3. Employee Relations & Support

• Serve as the primary contact for employee questions, concerns, and HR support needs
• Conduct investigations, provide guidance to managers, and ensure corrective action processes are handled consistently
• Champion employee engagement and morale through recognition initiatives and HR support presence
• Partner with management to resolve employee performance concerns and coach on conflict resolution

4. Talent Management & Onboarding

• Manage the full-cycle onboarding process including background checks, new hire paperwork, orientation, and training coordination
• Support hiring managers with recruitment coordination and job posting strategy
• Ensure new hires are compliant with licensure, immunization, and documentation requirements prior to start

5. Records & Reporting

• Maintain confidential employee files in compliance with legal requirements
• Create, manage, and report HR metrics such as turnover, retention, PTO balances, FTE headcount, etc.
• Support credentialing team by tracking HR-related provider data (background checks, I-9s, training)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3+ years in a healthcare setting
• Proficient in ADP Workforce Now and HRIS systems
• Strong knowledge of labor law, healthcare regulatory compliance, and HR best practices
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred

This position is foundational as we set the standard of our Human Resources Department. The HR Manager will help lead the design of scalable processes and may be involved in hiring future HR staff, such as a recruiter, HR coordinator, or compliance specialist, as the company grows.
