D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently seeking a Project Manager-E. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the preparation and coordination of all technical activities on assigned projects. The Project Manager plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates engineering work, monitors compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and standards, and ensures effective communication among all project disciplines and consultants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Serve as the main point of contact for daily interactions with the client's designated representative and jurisdictional agency personnel, and lead internal project team activities.
  2. Manage a project team comprising engineers, CAD designers, technicians, sub-consultants, and contractors to ensure project success.
  3. Plan, schedule, and oversee the financial and technical aspects of assigned projects.
  4. Coordinate and manage project schedules and budgets through to completion.
  5. Conduct quality control reviews of design elements, contractual obligations, and overall deliverables prior to external release.
  6. Identify, interpret, and resolve technical issues with minimal oversight.
  7. Stay informed about the latest regulations and criteria from local, state, and federal agencies.
  8. Manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously.
  9. Conduct all business professionally and ethically to serve customers and enhance the company's reputation and profitability.
  10. Assist in coordinating construction phase services, including site visits, bid documents, submittal reviews, and payment applications.
  11. Willingness to travel overnight as required.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Active P.E. registration in the required state or ability to obtain it.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, with the ability to train and mentor staff.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of engineering experience related to land development projects.
  • Experience in technical writing, including work plans, contract documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and expand responsibilities.
  • Ability to apply common sense and follow instructions in written or oral form, including DRH applications.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and email.

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines.
